Swimming Carnival – Let’s Beach Party!!!

Swimming Carnival – Let’s Beach Party!!!

The Domremy Swimming Carnival is a major event on the school calendar, but this year’s “Beach Party!” theme made it even more enjoyable. For Year 12s, it wasn’t just about competition, instead it was about participation and celebrating together as a cohort.

From the moment we arrived, everyone truely embraced the theme with their vibrant outfits and inflatables. The House Captains did an amazing job in encouraging their Houses to also embrace the theme and demonstrate the school spirit in the war cries and by cheering their friends on! They ensured that each student could experience a true Domremy swimming carnival.

Moreover, without the outstanding coordination of the staff and student helpers, we would not have been able to organise our Year 12 fun race. That was definitely one of the highlights of the day.

The teacher vs student race was another highlight! In this event, the House Captains, House Vice Captains and teachers, all competed against each other in a freestyle relay race. This year, Tabitha Ong, (Class of 2020), returned to join the teachers’ team, making the race even more intense. The greatest moments of this event were definitely witnessing the unwavering support and camaraderie within the school community, exemplifying our school’s strong spirit.

And finally, we united as a cohort to experience Domremy’s swimming carnival tradition: The Year 12 jump! Without a doubt this was extremely memorable for each of us to celebrate our final year.

Congratulations to Nagle House for their win this year!

We are deeply grateful to the staff and students for their participation and support throughout the day, our 2025 House Captains and, of course, our Sports Coordinator Ms Angilletta.
