St Patrick’s College Leadership Afternoon

St Patrick’s College Leadership Afternoon

On Wednesday 18 February, the Year 12 leadership team had the opportunity to attend a leadership afternoon at St Patrick’s College, where student leaders from a range of different schools came together. It was a really valuable experience being surrounded by other young leaders who are passionate about making a positive impact in their own communities.

Throughout the afternoon, we were placed into mixed school groups and participated in a variety of activities that required teamwork, communication and initiative. This was valuable as we had the opportunity to not only meet new people but also hear about the initiatives other schools are implementing, giving us new ideas. It was inspiring to hear from other leaders and the creative ways other schools are fostering positive change and student engagement.

A highlight of the afternoon was hearing from Stephen Coniglio, Captain of the Greater Western Sydney Giants AFL Club. He spoke about resilience, teamwork and the importance of leading by example. His insights reinforced that strong leadership requires humility, consistency and the willingness to support others, both on and off the field.

Overall, the afternoon strengthened my confidence as a leader and inspired me to continue contributing positively within my school community. It was a reminder that leadership is about teamwork, connection, growth and learning from those around you.
