Spotlight on Ruby and Teja place: Jeff Speakman Kenpo 5.0 World Championships in Las Vegas
In an earlier issue we spotlighted Ruby and Teja and their achievements in martial arts, an extracurricular activity that these young ladies are passionate about.
We are happy to provide an update to our earlier story. Ruby and Teja competed in the Jeff Speakman Kenpo 5.0 World Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada, in July.
Teja was successful in grading for her 1st degree black belt.
Both girls competed in Forms, Self-Defence and Sparring.
Ruby placed 2nd in Sparring.
Teja placed 3rd in Self-Defence, 3rd in Forms and 2nd in Sparring.
This was a highly competitive tournament, with over 900 competitors from all over the world.
Embodying this yearβs College theme, βπππ ππ₯π π£πͺππππ ππ€ πͺπ π¦π£π€ β¦ ππππ₯ π£π ππ π¨πππ πππ π‘πππͺ?’, both Ruby and Teja stepped up to the challenge and performed incredibly well.
