“Orlando”: un film italiano ๐ฅ ๐๏ธ ๐ฌ ๐ฎ๐น
Just in time for the Italian Film Festival to be run at the Palace Cinema, Year 9 and Year 10 students of Italian attended the Palace in โLittle Italyโ to watch “Orlando“. Italian cinema is well known for its ability to tell rich and emotionally engaging stories, often exploring intricate human relationships and societal issues.
โOrlandoโ is a touching story of a gruff Italian farmer named Orlando, who, after years of estrangement, embarks on a journey to Brussels to aid his ailing son Valerio and discovers he has a spirited twelve-year-old granddaughter, Lyse.
“Orlando” is a modern fairy tale that delves into the themes of family, connection, and the choices that shape our lives. Although not typically the kind of genre the students would have chosen, the film provided them with a view into the cultural sensibilities of Italian migration, generational differences and complex family relationships.
