In our Chapel … did you know?

History of Domremy’s Chapel

In 1881 – 1882: The large Italianate Victorian mansion is built on the site by Arthur William Sutton and named Delapre.

1910 – 1911: The Presentation Sisters purchase the property (1910), rename it Domremy after St Joan of Arc’s birthplace, and open the school on 25 January 1911 with 12 pupils. The first classroom was the mansion’s grand ballroom – the space that is now the College Chapel.

Today

Today, our College Chapel continues to be a special place for our students, staff, and community to grow in faith together. It offers a quiet and welcoming space to pray, reflect, and worship. Students have the opportunity to take part in the Rosary, Bible study, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, quiet prayer, Adoration, morning prayer, and liturgies that enrich their spiritual journey.
