The Feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a significant celebration for us as a Presentation community.
Nano Nagle drew great strength and inspiration from the Presentation of our Lady which is celebrated annually on 21 November. In reflection on the meaning of this Feast day, we recognise and celebrate Mary’s ‘Yes’ to God and her dedication.
Additionally, Presentation Day is special for the Presentation Sisters and their communities worldwide. The Sisters’ vision and legacy lives through our Domremy community as we continue to spread the Good News through our words and deeds, and especially through the young women who walk through these gates.
Furthermore, on this joyous day we had the privilege of celebrating the Opening and Blessing of our award winning Nano Nagle Learning Centre. This was presided over by Bishop Danny Meagher and Fr Phil Zadro, in the presence of our Presentation Sisters, Mr Tony Farley, Executive Director Sydney Catholic Schools, and many other distinguished guests. This was a most auspicious occasion that marked a significant historical event for our Domremy community. It was certainly well attended and well received by all present.

As we approach Christmas, my prayer for us all is to focus on God’s gift and His act of generosity towards us, so that we might seek and act in ways that are kind and thoughtful towards others more and more, experiencing the words of Jesus for ourselves since “it is more blessed to give than to receive”.
Advent Prayer – Joy
Dear Jesus,
Help us focus on you
during this busy season.
May we stay aware of the joy
you bring into our lives.
We want to find you
in the everyday moments
and come with hearts of gratitude
to your manger on Christmas.
Amen.
Nano Nagle, pray for us.

Celebration of Excellence Evening
Preparations for the Celebration of Excellence Assembly are well and truly underway. This event will take place on Wednesday 7 December in the Brenda Quinn Hall at 7pm. The Evening is one for showcasing and celebrating the achievements, successes and talents of young women at Domremy. We are looking forward to sharing this with you, and look forward to welcoming family and friends on campus this year.
Attendance is compulsory at this school event for all students in Years 7 to 11.
Staff Farewells
Whilst this time of year is filled with much joy and anticipation of the festive season, with some sadness I am faced with the task of farewelling valued members of our College staff. The following staff member is leaving us to pursue other opportunities and pathways:
- Stefania Baguley has been at Domremy since 2011 as part of the English Department. In her time here, she has successfully connected with students and staff. Stefania is respected by her colleagues and students and will be missed. We appreciate her valuable contribution to our College and wish her all the best in her new position at her new school.
On behalf of our College community, I bid Stefania farewell. Her passion and hard work have been an important part of fulfilling our educational vision. As she commences a new chapter, we wish her every success and blessing in all her future endeavors.
Domremy Parent Representative Group (DPRG)
I take this opportunity to sincerely thank all the parents of the DPRG, for their great dedication to our College and for their attendance at our DPRG meetings this year. We are fortunate that our DPRG representatives will remain with us next year, and I invite anyone else who may wish to join. An invitation will be extended to our incoming Year 7 parents in 2023.
I look forward to working with our representative parent group again in 2023.

Parent Student Teacher (PST) Interviews
Parent Student Teacher Interviews will take place on Friday 9 December. Information regarding the process for bookings has been sent to you. We look forward to seeing as many parents as possible. These meetings are beneficial in learning the progress of your daughter’s progress thus far. It is an opportunity to have a conversation about the possibilities in enhancing her growth in her learning.
Finally
It has been a very busy couple of weeks. So much to celebrate. This newsletter is again filled with tributes for the many achievements of our young women which are to be celebrated. I love their enthusiasm, their drive and commend the many hours of hard work and dedication, and their commitment to the pursuit of excellence in what they love doing.
Whilst the end is near for the upcoming holidays and festive season, it is important to note that attendance to school is compulsory for all students until the last day, which is Thursday 8 December and for all students to attend in school uniform with their parents for PST interviews on Friday 9 December.
Blessings on you and your family…
