CSDA Public Speaking
Students from Years 7 to 11 represented Domremy at the Catholic Schools Debating Association’s (CSDA) Public Speaking Competition on Friday, 28 February, for the first round hosted by Catherine McAuley College, Westmead. The Competition is open to systemic and private Catholic schools across the Sydney, Broken Bay and Wollongong Dioceses. It is an excellent opportunity for students to develop their confidence and speaking skills as well as to showcase a range of skills in critical thinking, expression and audience engagement.
Mataali from Year 7 and Natalie from Year 9 were both successful in proceeding to the final qualifying round on Friday, 7 March at Our Lady of Mercy College, Parramatta. Both girls spoke beautifully and are to be applauded for their skill and confidence.
Congratulations in particular to Mataali, who made it through to to the Grand Final on Friday 14 March, hosted by Marist College North Shore. while Mataali didn’t win, her performance was exceptional.
We congratulate all of our students who represented the College so beautifully during the Competition.
