College Swimming Carnival
Domremy hosted our annual swimming carnival on Friday 24 February at Ryde Aquatic Centre. The day was complete with a magnetic atmosphere that resembled “Aussie Summer”, which was our theme for this year. The costumes were magnificent, the cheering from all four houses was fierce and the competition between swimmers was extraordinary. We congratulate all students who participated in races, took the time and effort to dress up and who cheered on and supported their fellow housemates. We would like to extend our congratulations to the following outstanding swimmers who finished either first or second in their age group, and of course a big shout out to the winning house, Martina!

Also noteworthy are Domremy’s outstanding results from the Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) Conference 2 Swimming Carnival, which took place on Tuesday 7 March at Homebush Aquatic Centre. First and foremost, an unprecedented result was that every student who attended the evening from Domremy received a medal (from placing either 1st, 2nd or 3rd in one of their races). Additionally, our school was placed 2nd overall in the Junior, Intermediate and Senior categories. On top of this, Eva M won the U16’s age champion category, which is a phenomenal achievement!
Perhaps our most distinguished accomplishment was receiving the Community Shield Award, which is allocated based on the ratio of points to number of students in each school. We are extremely proud of all of the achievements of these young women and our school as a whole. We wish the best of luck to our young women who will go on to compete at the next SCS carnival against the other Sydney Conferences.
