Class of 2024: Staff vs Student Debate

Class of 2024: Staff vs Student Debate

On Monday 16 September, the Domremy community had the opportunity to witness our exciting Staff vs Student Debate, a beloved tradition in the lead up to Graduation. This year’s topic, ‘that students are over reliant on technology’ generated some interesting discussion from both sides.

Representing the affirmative team, the Year 12s passionately argued about how technology has permeated all aspects of their education, drawing on lived experiences to form their arguments. Their clever points built a compelling case, and was quite the challenge for the teachers on the opposing team. Despite the affirmative team’s efforts, it was the teachers who emerged victorious after deliberation from our esteemed adjudicators. With their well-crafted rebuttals, and solid arguments, the teachers were able to effectively prove that students are, in fact, not over reliant on technology. The Staff vs Student Debate was a thrilling showcase of immense wit and insight, leaving the audience with a good source of entertainment.

Thank you to everyone involved for making this a great success, and a memory we will deeply cherish!
