Book Nook Reading Club – meeting with Christian Brothers HS

Reading a book in common always leads to new friendships and shared interests – fostering a reading habit!!

The Book Nook Reading Club met at Domremy on 20 June with the Waterford Readers’ Club from Christian Brothers High School Lewisham. The boys and girls had read the Tik Tok sensation, ‘The Inheritance Games,’ by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. This novel involves puzzles, riddles, and mystery when a billionaire tycoon leaves his sizeable wealth to an unknown mystery girl, Avery Grambs, disinheriting his family for unknown reasons. All are left wondering why, as they piece together a game that their deceased billionaire grandfather left in his wake.

Discussion and engagement with the novel and a real chance to hear different perspectives were enjoyed by all as we sat down to ponder some questions raised by the book’s unique complications. The students also got to know each other when Morning Tea was provided and many appreciated the opportunity to participate in a book club for all ages and year groups (Years 7-12) with like minded peers.
