Year 10 Activities Week

Year 10 Activities Week

Over Weeks 7 and 8, Year 10 students were immersed in a series of meaningful learning experiences that encouraged reflection, connection, and growth beyond the classroom. The Social Justice Day invited students to pause and consider themes of hope, compassion, and responsibility, prompting thoughtful discussion about their role in contributing to a more just and caring community. This message was powerfully reinforced during Glenn Gerryn’s Day of Hope, where students reflected on personal resilience and the importance of choosing hope in the face of challenge.

As students began looking ahead, the introduction to Senior Studies supported them in reflecting on their strengths, interests, and future pathways. Sessions led by Prue Salter’s team provided reassurance and clarity as students considered the transition into the senior years. Leadership and responsibility were further developed through Big Sister Training, where students embraced the opportunity to support and guide younger peers, strengthening connections across the school community.

Wellbeing remained a strong focus, with Brainstorm Productions’ Verbal Combat offering students space to reflect on relationships, communication, and emotional resilience in an engaging and relatable way. Career exploration was enriched through the University Careers Day at Macquarie University, allowing students to envision life beyond school and explore future possibilities. The Picnic Day at Drummoyne Pool provided a valuable balance, giving students time to connect, unwind, and strengthen friendships, contributing positively to their overall wellbeing.

Together, these experiences supported Year 10 students as they continued to develop confidence, self-awareness, and a sense of purpose as they moved towards the next stage of their learning journey.
