Ferragosto – Sunday, 17 August: Our Lady of the Assumption Procession

Dear Staff, Students and Families,

The City of Canada Bay warmly invites our Domremy community to attend the Our Lady of the Assumption Procession, taking place as part of Ferragosto this Sunday.

Now in its 28th year, Ferragosto will be held on Sunday, 17 August, along Great North Road in Five Dock.

In 2019, the City of Canada Bay Council introduced the Feast of the Assumption Procession to honour the religious and cultural origins of the event.

This year’s procession will take place prior to the official opening of the festival, commencing at 9:30am and concluding at 10:00am with a special blessing of the event on the main stage. The meeting point for procession participants will be the corner of Lyons Road and Great North Road, Five Dock.

Staff, students and families are welcome to join the procession for this meaningful celebration. If you wish to attend or participate in the procession, we kindly ask that you arrive by 9:15am to allow time for assembly and coordination.

The procession will be led by The Most Reverend Daniel Meagher DD VG, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Sydney.

We hope to see you there!

Mrs Caroline Morizzi, Religious Education Coordinator
