Happy St Patrick’s Day

Happy St Patrick’s Day

St Patrick’s Day has a rich history of celebration in Australia, given our anglo-celtic history, and the contribution made to the Catholic Church by so many religious – the priests, nuns and brothers who came from Ireland, including many religious Orders that established Catholic Schools in our nation.

Domremy College, established by the Presentation Sisters in 1911, and as a proud Presentation community, honours the rich history and traditions of our Irish descendants. We give thanks for their immense contributions to their missions to spread the Good News. We are especially grateful for our Presentation Sisters who have shaped and united us and we give thanks to their Irish Founder, Venerable Nano Nagle.

Today, Krista Orias-Cabasal , 2025 Faith and Missions Prefect, along with the Year 12 2025 Leadership Team, will be selling donuts for Saint Patrick’s Day  in the plaza at lunchtime, with all proceeds going toward Project Compassion.

An Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you.

May the wind be always at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face,

The rains fall soft upon your fields,

And, until we meet again,

May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

Venerable Nano Nagle, Pray for us.

And thank you to one of our social media followers for this, which we had to share:

“May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.”

Happy St Patrick’s Day to all.
