2025 Student Leadership Retreat
On November 4 and 5, the 2025 Student Leadership Team participated in their very first group experience at a school-held retreat, where they began learning the complexities of teamwork. Still new to navigating challenges, they discovered that while all ideas are welcome and encouraged, not all will be viable. This lesson helped them explore qualities that define a strong leader, such as adaptability, integrity, empathy, and resilience, asking themselves, “What am I learning about myself through working with others?”
Throughout the retreat, students engaged in meaningful discussions and exercises, including how to give constructive feedback and actively listen, strengthening essential communication skills. With support from teachers and a focus on the College’s core values, students collectively crafted the theme for the year ahead – one that embodies the College’s commitment to vision, Presentation values, and a growth mindset.
After countless conversations, deliberations, and discussions, the team successfully finalised the theme, which will be revealed at the first assembly next year. Following two days of self-reflection and collaboration, the team enjoyed lunch together and expressed heartfelt thanks to Mrs McGahan, our Principal, and Mrs Kshatriya, Mrs Rombola and Mrs Vari for their guidance and support.
We hope that through these experiences and ongoing collaboration, students will gain new learning opportunities and develop transferable skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom.
