Service in action – Knitting Club

Walk in the Maker Space on any Wednesday or Friday lunchtime this term and you are immediately struck by the serenity that has settled over the space and its occupants.

Our wonderful students, all from different year groups, some helping others learn new skills, are quietly knitting and crocheting beanies, scarves and fingerless gloves for the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and shelters for those sleeping rough and, blankets for pet shelters.

On 8 August, we celebrated the Feast of Saint Mary MacKillop, who lived by her words to “never see a need without trying to do something about it.”

Thank you ladies, your service in action, will help those less fortunate and help to brighten their day. Thank you also to all who have donated wool to our Knitting Club!
