Year 9 Design and Technology Interviews: Erstwilder!

On 21 February, Year 9 Design and Technology interviewed Marc Abrahams, the owner & creative director of the Australian accessory brand, ‘Erstwilder’.

‘Erstwilder’ is famous for its limited edition, wearable art pieces. They create earrings, necklaces, brooches and ornaments. They aim to spark self-expression, inspire confidence, open conversations, start friendships, provoke nostalgia, and even assist people in getting through their tougher days.

During the Zoom meeting, the students asked Mr Abrahams a variety of questions, such as, ‘Who is your target audience?’, ‘What materials do you use?’ and ‘What is some advice you would give to a student who is about to make their first pair of earrings?’

Using Marc Abraham’s answers, the students will now begin work on their Design Folio and will also begin to design their own pair of earrings, inspired by the theme, ‘Tropical Flora and Fauna.’

We were very lucky to be allowed this glimpse into the Erstwilder brand and philosophy, as no other students have been allowed this rare opportunity before.

We would like to thank Mr Abrahams for taking time out of his busy schedule to meet with us.
