Chloe’s ‘Footprints of Captivity’ – Winner of the IW Young Creatives Award 2023

Congratulations to Year 11 student Chloe, Dang, who was selected as a finalist in the Inner West’s Young Creatives Award 2023. Chloe entered her sculptural artwork called ‘Footprints of Captivity‘ that she created for her Cockatoo Island inspired assessment task earlier this year.

We are delighted to announce that Chloe was announced the Winner of this Award at the exhibition opening evening on Wednesday. The exhibition was completely full, with an extremely high calibre of works from a range of emerging artists. Chloe won the Young Artist Ages 16-18 category, winning a $500 gift card.

We are so proud of Chloe for entering the competition,  another brilliant example of our students taking on board this year’s student theme and “growing from what you go through”.

Congratulations Chloe for your amazing and beautiful sculptural artwork, and a shout out to our wonderful Visual Arts Department and teachers.
