It’s my great honour to be writing to you in my first week as the new Head of School – Cranbrook's ninth Head since 1918.
This term our students have moved beyond passive learning to active engagement, taking ownership of their education through inquiry-based approaches and real-world applications.
What an exciting time for our penultimate term as a single-sex school! Over the holidays we continued to tour and interview incoming girls for Years 7 and 11 2026.
As we come to the end of an incredibly full and fast-paced term, students were given a valuable opportunity to pause and reflect through the final SWP session.
A huge thank you to our 1st XVIII team and the entire Cranbrook community for an unforgettable Friday night of AFL.

In the last week of the School holidays, 96 boys from K-12 participated in the Sydney Interschools Championships, held in Thredbo.
“If you want something done, give it to a busy person”. A well-known saying that has been a mantra of those involved in Music this term.
On Sunday 10 August, up to 100 Cranbrook students and multiple staff will have the chance to take part in something bigger than themselves—not by running the City2Surf, but by cheering from the sidelines while manning the drink station outside the school gates.
As a Japanese student at Cranbrook, the recent Japanese Day incursion was one of the most enriching experiences I’ve had.

On Monday, Cranbrook School had the great pleasure of welcoming our 9th Head of School, Dr Anne Johnstone.
Study Centre is run every Monday – Thursday from Week 2 of Term 3 from 3.30pm – 5pm on Level 4 of the Vicars Centenary Building.
This year marks 20 years of CETOP, two decades of journeys taken, friendships formed, lives changed, and communities connected across Nepal, Ladakh and here at home.
