Please may I ask that you read the next paragraph very closely as we are moving towards a new School Management System. The Compass system promises to provide a much more streamlined service for parents and for staff and will certainly assist the smooth running of the School. This new management system goes live 1 July, and we look forward to delivering an improved service to parents.

You would have received an email earlier in the week regarding E-Bikes. If your son does ride an E-Bike to school, can I please ask that you check that it is compliant with the law and that you remind your son about safety guidelines when riding it. Unbelievably, the day after I sent that email, we had a complaint to the School Reception regarding dangerous behaviour of students on E-Bikes. As I have said before, I am not trying to spoil the fun, but I am very conscious of the numerous accident near misses as well as several injury-causing accidents that have occurred.

At lunchtime today, our Year 12 AFL and Rugby players competed for the Clontarf Cup in AFL, with our Reconciliation Week guest, Uncle Richie presiding. Uncle Richie has previously joined our AFL players in the Northern Territory, and it was wonderful to welcome him to this lunchtime fun fixture. Sam Marjoribanks and Jack Tremain promoted this in yesterday’s Assembly, in order to raise money for the Indigenous Community where the School toured.

On Monday night, we enjoyed the annual AMPED! Rock Music performances at The Factory in Marrickville. The courage and confidence shown by the performers of all ages was incredible and the audience participation was loud and encouraging. I would especially like to thank Mr Eddy Fairburn and all the Music staff for this very professional evening and commend all performers.

A special thank you to all the Year 10 parents who joined the Year 11 2026 subject information webinar last night. I now encourage students to discuss their options with you, their mentors, and other relevant staff. The first decision is whether to follow the IB Diploma or the HSC pathway. After that, subjects often fall into place quickly.

A warm welcome back to an exciting Term 2. I trust everyone enjoyed the Easter break and the Anzac long weekend. We commenced the Term with an Anzac Remembrance Service on the Mackay Lawn. A special thanks to Rev. Rod Farraway for the service. The students were respectful and were engaged as the true meaning of Anzac Day was explained to them as we honoured the fallen.

Our Year 12 exams commenced yesterday and despite a power outage this morning which saw the Business Studies exams moved to Vicars Centenary Hall, all appears to be going smoothly. I wish all Year 12 the very best for their examinations.
