Parents can expect to see Term 4 School Reports by early next week. As usual, please spend some time discussing the school report with your child/ren. A reminder to parents and guardians of Years 7-10 that these reports do not contain narrative comments from teachers. These parents should therefore check the Continuous Report on Canvas in conjunction with the School Report for further written feedback.
Here is a link to the Canvas Parent Training guide should these parents need a refresher on how to access the Continuous Report. There are videos and FAQs to view. For first time users:
Step 1: Use school registered parent email and select forgot password
Step 2: Type in your chosen password
For any questions or issues relating to the Continuous Report, please email: digilit@cranbrook.nsw.edu.au
A mandatory component of the IB Diploma Programme is the Group 4 Science Project. Students are placed in groups so that there is one member representing each of the Sciences. The students are tasked to solve an issue using their combined scientific knowledge and skills they have gained throughout their IB Diploma journey. This year, the students had to create a smart kitchen appliance that helped tackle a world issue such as nutrition, human health improvement and sustainability. Our students worked for two full days and were able to create apps, 3D-printed prototypes and experimental demonstrations.
The staff were truly blown away with the ingenuity, knowledge and communication skills of our Scientists. Well done IBDP students!

This week, Daniel Li (Year 11), with the help of Mr Hamblin, hosted the inaugural History Trivia Quiz in the school library. This activity contributes toward Daniel’s Creativity, Activity and Service commitment in the IB Diploma Programme. A wide range of historical facts were covered, from the Mesopotamian Empires all the way through to the Cold War. The final prize was a book covering Cranbrook’s history, provided by the History department. Well done, Daniel! And congrats to our first ever winner, Caspar Wenck (Year 9)!
