Last week Cranbrook School teachers Jessica Li, James Adams and Ryan Taylor shared their learnings from AISNSW’s course ‘Courageously Navigating Hard Conversations’.

Their detailed and engaging presentation for Cranbrook Teachers Talking Teaching (CTTT) conveyed how this course had informed their own practice and included:
– an exploration of what hard conversations are and what makes them challenging
– an outline of the Open-to-Learning (OTL) model conversations, in which the goal is to emerge from the conversation knowing more about the person and the scenario
– an in-depth exploration of the OTL framework, with practical examples at each stage
– a discussion of The Feedback Fallacy and its implications for our practice.
