Message from Richard Baker, Acting Head of Junior School

Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope all our families have enjoyed a restful break, and the staff and I look forward to welcoming our students back to School next week on Tuesday, 15 October 2024.

Some key reminders for Term 4 include:

  • K-6 students need to be dressed in full summer uniform;
  • Please make sure your son’s hair is cut above the collar;
  • Co-curricular activities (Y1-Y6) and summer sport after-school training (Y3-Y6) all recommence from the first day of term;
  • Y3-Y6 summer sport fixtures (Round 7) commence on the first Saturday of term (19 October).

Please note that our Learn to Swim PE lessons commence on the first day of Term 4: Tuesday, 15 October. The timetable commences with Week B, so KR, KW and 4R will have their lessons on the first day of Term 4.

What to pack on your son’s PE days:

  • Swimmers to be worn to school underneath their PE uniform –
    Y3-Y6 students must have Cranbrook swimmers
    K-Y2 students need speedo-style swimmers
  • hooded Cranbrook towel (available from the Uniform Shop);
  • goggles;
  • underwear to change into after swimming;
  • slip-ons, crocs or flip flops to wear to the pool.

T4 Swimming Timetable Classes Week 1B – Week 6A (including Monday of Week 7B)

To assist us in minimising the time taken to get changed, we ask that all (K-6) students come to School wearing their swimmers underneath their PE uniform on the days they have PE lessons. After swimming, they will be given the opportunity to change back into their PE uniform.

Changes to Public Transport: Message from Transport for NSW

Transport for NSW is making adjustments to the public transport network to connect the new Sydney Metro City & Southwest with Sydney’s trains and buses.

Some changes are already in place including the North and Northwest bus changes on 4 August and Sydney Metro from Chatswood to Sydenham which opened on 19 August.

Transport is preparing to make permanent adjustments on the train and the regional outer metropolitan bus network from 20 October 2024.

The changes will support the final conversion of the T3 Bankstown Line between Sydenham and Bankstown to Metro operations and respond to the introduction of Metro services from Chatswood to Sydenham.

This change will occur during the NSW Higher School Certificate so we therefore encourage students to familiarise themselves with what this may mean for travel to and from school before that date by visiting transportnsw.info

When the train timetable changes, some of the usual transport connections may also change. The Transport for NSW Trip Planner will be updated before the changes take effect.

Please remember to plan ahead via https://transportnsw.info/trip before travelling and allow extra travel time.

To provide feedback on any Transport services, please visit transportnsw.info/contact-us/feedback
