Music – Week 7
Chapel Opening
At 6.30pm on Monday, 14 November, Cranbrook Voices sang at the Service of Dedication in the Cranbrook School Memorial Chapel. Together with the Senior School Choir they led the congregation with the School Hymn, Guide me Oh Thou Great Jehovah and the Cranbrook Centenary Hymn. It was wonderful to be in such an inspiring venue!
We were also delighted to hear the inspired words of William Blake, in a tune by John Taverner as the combined choirs beautifully performed The Lamb.

Goodwin Village Concert
The following day Year 5 and Year 6 Chamber Choir and Voices visited Goodwin Village, an Anglican Retirement village in Woollahra. This is something we have done for 15 years and it was great to be back. The choir performed a few items on their own and led the audience in four carols and the residents joined in with gusto!
Boys also volunteered to do individual items, a string quartet, oboe, guitar, cello and piano solos and an exuberant rendition of The Night before Christmas complete with reindeer ears by Ethan, Monte and Finn.
We had some lovely feedback from The Village and parents and grandparents who attended, were delighted to be there and look forward to going again next year.
