Perspectives: Podcast Series – A Conversation with our Headmaster

Welcome to our new Perspectives podcast series. This is the first in a series of conversations between key members of our academic staff and our Headmaster, Nicholas Sampson.

In this inaugural podcast, Dr David Thomas, Hone Housemaster and longstanding School Historian, reflects on Nicholas Sampson’s achievements as a leader, delving back into his history as a Headmaster. They discuss what constitutes a truly liberal education, the vision for the School, the legacy a great School should leave behind, and how Nicholas’ own career so far has shaped his perspective.

Liberalism and education converge, as you are teaching people to gain a greater and deeper understanding of the truth.

From defining liberalism and the ultimate freedom it creates, to the rewards of teaching, the importance of conversations in corridors, the special genius of our School and the move to a more tertiary style of learning are all topics for discussion in this first podcast.
