Music Term 1 Week 3

It was with great excitement the individual instrumental commenced last week at Cranbrook.

Under the tutelage of professional musicians, boys in the Junior School can learn piano, guitar, strings, woodwind brass and percussion instruments. Each lesson goes for 30 minutes, and boys are rotated so they don’t miss the same class lesson each week. The literacy and numeracy session in the morning are blocked out and boys do not miss those classes.

We encourage students learning to join an ensemble that is appropriate to their skill level and share in the joy of music-making with others. We can advise on this.

We always encourage performance and students learning both internally and externally are invited to participate in Lunchtime Concerts and Soirees. The dates and details are listed below.

If you are interested in your son learning an instrument, please contact Sandra Trew, Music administrator, or fill out the Learning an Instrument form on Operoo.
