Message from Grant Andrews

Dear Parents,

It has been a joy to see all our students return from their holidays, eager to learn and ready to meet up with their friends once again. The term has started smoothly, with our students settling back into routines and classes quickly.

A big thank you to Miss Boniface, Miss Laumberg and Miss Hewett for giving up their time over the holidays, accompanying the students and parents to Nepal. What an amazing experience for all involved. It was wonderful for this immersion to start up again after several years of not being able to travel. We look forward to hearing about their experiences in the weeks to come. Also, to Mr Roughan and Mr Cohen who travelled to Armidale with the Rugby squad on the first weekend of the holidays. The sportsmanship and behaviour of our students was exemplary, alongside some outstanding performances on the field. Further information can be found in the sports section.

We have a busy term planned with a variety of opportunities for our families to join us on campus. Today, we welcomed many of our Y6 families to a PYP Learning Showcase. This was an opportunity for our students to share their learning with parents. Next Friday, we are excited to welcome our Mothers, Grandmothers and other special women in the lives of our students. Please see the reminders about this event in the Deputy Head section of the newsletter.

Next week, many of our year levels will go on excursions linked to their current units of inquiry: Y1 is heading to Lyne Park, Y3 is heading to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Y4 to Fisherman’s Wharf, Y5 to Taronga Zoo and Y6 will attend a play at the Monkey Baa Theatre. Our Y2-Y4 students will also enjoy a French incursion. These opportunities enhance and support the learning of our students in multiple learning domains.

A reminder that our first fixture for Y3 -Y6 Winter sport will be held this Saturday. Please check the Cranbrook Parent App for fixture and team details for your son.
