Little League Sports Report Round 3

In Round 3 of winter sports we had strong performances across all codes. All teams showed determination and put in their best efforts during their respective matches. While some teams faced challenging opponents and experienced defeats, others showcased their skills and emerged victorious. The players demonstrated sportsmanship, positive attitudes, and a commitment to improving their skills through training and practice sessions last week and this translated onto the field/court. Overall, Round 3 was marked by competitive performances and a display of teamwork and dedication from our young athletes. It was a joy to walk the sidelines and see boys participating in a range of sports and striving towards their personal best.

Football Round 3

Year 6A Football

Despite a valiant effort, the 6As Football team fell short with a 4-2 loss against Redlands. Eamonn R scored both goals, displaying his skill and determination. The team put in a good performance against a formidable opponent, and a late double from Eamonn R and some incredible saves from Emile G kept them in the game until the end. The slow start proved to be the difference, but the team finished strongly.

Year 6B Football

The 6Bs Football team faced a challenging match against Redlands, resulting in a 6-1 defeat. Rocco B’s goal stood out as a fantastic individual effort. Additionally, Christopher H made notable contributions to minimize the score line with his defensive efforts.

Year 6C Football

The 6Cs football team played an exciting match against Sydney Grammar, resulting in a 1-1 draw. Harry R displayed his scoring prowess by finding the back of the net. Finn W, Henry W, and Alexander M demonstrated commendable efforts across the field, actively contributing to the team’s performance and showing great determination.

Year 5A Football

Despite a close battle, the 5As Football team faced a narrow 11-9 defeat against Knox. Kasper B and Rhidian S were the goal-scorers, showcasing their skill and determination on the field. Kasper B’s outstanding performance in front of the goal was instrumental in keeping the team in the contest.

Year 5B Football

In a thrilling encounter against Knox Grammar School, the 5Bs Football team emerged victorious with a 3-2 scoreline. Austin M and Leo C showcased their skills by scoring crucial goals and putting in impressive performances. Rory M and Sebastian F stood out for their exceptional efforts throughout the match, contributing both on and off the ball to ensure the team’s success.

Year 5C Football

In a competitive match, the 5Cs Football team faced a 6-2 defeat against Trinity. Baxter M and Alec R contributed with goals, showcasing their offensive abilities. James B’s performance stood out as he displayed great work in goal, making crucial saves to keep the opposition at bay. Not only did he excel in defence, but James also actively participated in the team’s attack, making significant contributions throughout the entire game.

Year 4A Football

4As Football celebrated a resounding 5-0 victory against Newington, with Hugo L leading the charge by scoring four goals, and Alexander R adding one to the tally. The team demonstrated great composure and executed the strategies worked on during training, and this was particularly evident in the performances of Oliver P and Santiago D, who showcased their skills and contributed significantly to the win.

Year 4B Football

The 4Bs Football team showcased their dominance with a convincing 6-2 victory over Newington. Ziggy S and George Y were the star performers, each scoring three goals. Xavier L’s tireless efforts on the pitch, contributing both in defence and attack, were commendable as he consistently supported his teammates.

Year 4C Football

The 4Cs Football team celebrated a convincing 5-1 victory against Newington. Sebastian R scored two goals, while Mason P, Leo M, and Henry R each contributed with one goal. Sebastian R’s standout performance included his sharpness in front of the goal, and he could have easily added more goals. Tully S deserves recognition for a great defensive display, playing a crucial role in limiting the opponents to only one goal.

Year 4D Football

In an impressive display, the 4Ds Football team emerged triumphant with a dominant 9-0 victory over Newington Wyvern. Leo M led the scoring with four goals, while Tom W, Harvey H, and Sammy I each contributed with two goals. Sammy I showcased exceptional versatility, transitioning from the goalkeeper position to make a significant impact in the outfield during the second half. Jonathan K’s outstanding leadership was evident as he willingly volunteered to fill the goalkeeper position, demonstrating selflessness, and making amazing passes throughout the game.

Year 3A Football

In a thrilling contest, the 3As Football team emerged victorious with a 3-1 win against Barker. The team displayed exceptional performances, with Eddie C standing out for his outstanding striker performance throughout the game. Charlie B’s wonderful hat-trick showcased his goal-scoring prowess, while Louis B’s contributions both in defence and attack were crucial to the team’s success.

Year 3B Football

The 3Bs Football team demonstrated their prowess with a thrilling 1-0 victory against Barker. Alfie T’s goal proved to be the difference-maker in the match. Wren L deserves special mention for his fantastic playmaking skills, consistently creating goal-scoring opportunities by seeking out teammates in attacking positions. The team’s hard work at training was evident in their cohesive and determined performance on the field.

Year 3C Football

The 3Cs Football team celebrated a comprehensive 10-1 victory against Coogee Prep. Alex P scored two goals, while Archie S, Aidan G (2), Teddy A, Josh L, Evan H, and Harry N (2) also found the back of the net. Aidan G impressed with his powerful shot goals, while Teddy A’s willingness to volunteer as goalkeeper.

Year 3D Football

The 3Ds Football team demonstrated their dominance with a commanding 17-0 victory against Barker. Every player on the team contributed to the scoreline, highlighting their collective effort. Imanol P’s excellent inside-of-the-foot passing play stood out, providing crucial assists to his teammates. The team’s strong performance was a testament to their hard work and dedication.

Year 3E Football

The 3Es Football team celebrated a resounding 10-0 victory against Barker, showcasing their skill and teamwork. Eason H scored two goals, while Liam C, Sebastian R, Rafael K, Emilio I, Kai J, and James A each added a goal to the tally. Liam C stood out with his superb performance, not only scoring a couple of goals but also setting up scoring opportunities for his teammates with his precise passing. The team’s commitment to training paid off, and their dedication was reflected in their dominant display.

Year 3F Football

The 3Fs football team delivered a remarkable performance in their game against Barker, securing a resounding 10-1 victory. It’s worth mentioning that several players from the Bs team stepped up to lend their support in this fixture. The Fs players exhibited hard work and dedication, actively contributing to all aspects of the game, be it attack, defence, or teamwork, resulting in a comprehensive win.

Year 6A Rugby

In a challenging rugby match, the 6As Rugby team faced a strong opponent and unfortunately lost with a score of 24-12. Despite the result, David A and Emanual H displayed their exceptional skills by scoring tries for the team. Carter M and Jasper L stood out as standout performers, showcasing their relentless efforts and contributions across the field. Their commitment and dedication were evident throughout the game, making a positive impact on the team’s performance despite the final score.

Year 6B Rugby

The 6Bs Rugby team enjoyed success in both of their matches. They secured a 25-5 victory against St Patrick’s, with Heath C-G scoring two tries, Arthur D scoring two tries, and Elvis L contributing to the scoreline. Heath C-G’s tries were a result of his outstanding footwork. In their second game against Trinity, the team emerged triumphant with a 45-20 win. Heath C-G and Arthur D both scored two tries, while Max C, Sol G, Will T, and Elvis L also made valuable contributions to the scoreline. Arthur D’s excellent defence and Sol G’s efforts in winning the ball in the ruck were worth mentioning.

Year 5A Rugby

5As Rugby triumphed with a hard-fought 12-5 victory over Kings. Xavier M and Oliver H were the try-scorers, showcasing their speed and agility on the field. The team had standout performances from Xavier M and Charlie R, who consistently made big go-forward carries, while Niko D impressed with his exceptional tackling. Oliver H displayed excellent leadership skills and showcased his kicking abilities, playing a vital role in securing the win.

Year 5B Rugby

The 5Bs Rugby team had an exhilarating morning of games, experiencing a draw against Coogee Prep and emerging victorious against Scots. In these matches, Sam S, Jack R, and Jack E showcased remarkable skill and sportsmanship. Their excellent performance on the field, coupled with their positive attitude and fair play, made them standout players. Their contributions were instrumental in the team’s competitive and spirited displays throughout the games.

Year 4A Rugby

The 4As Rugby team displayed their strength and resilience, securing a hard-fought 17-10 victory against St Patrick’s. Jasper M, William S, and Col O were the try-scorers, contributing to the team’s success. William S showcased his blazing pace and turned the tide of the game with a crucial try. The team’s unity and determination were instrumental in overcoming a tough opponent.

Year 4B Rugby

The 4Bs Rugby team had a fantastic morning, securing victories in both of their fixtures against Grammar St Ives and Scots White. The entire team displayed commendable teamwork and effort, contributing to the wins. Notably, Gus T and Ollie M stood out with their exceptional tackling abilities and impressive work at the ruck. Their dedication and determination played a significant role in the team’s success.

Year 3 Red Rugby

The 3 Reds Rugby team displayed an outstanding performance, securing a commanding 40-0 victory over Scots. Ben H and Eric LH scored two tries each, while Sebastian S, Wolf T, and Luca M also added tries to the scoreline. Eric L F deserves recognition for his excellent line runs through the Défense, causing havoc for the opposition. Luca M’s impressive tackles showcased his defensive prowess. In their second game against Grammar St Ives, the team emerged victorious with a 30-10 scoreline. Ben H, Wolf T, Harrison H, Jack P, Eric LH, and Seb S were the try-scorers. Wolf T’s remarkable ball-carrying skills and Ben H’s exceptional passing and team-oriented play were standout performances.

Year 3 White Rugby

In a thrilling round of matches, the 3 White Rugby team experienced mixed results. They secured a 25-10 victory against Newington Lindfield, with Sam Y, Michael L, and James C scoring tries. Theo C stood out for his exceptional tackling skills and his ability to make impactful runs to set up his teammates. However, they faced a tough challenge against Coogee Prep, resulting in a 40-0 loss.

Tennis Round 3

 The players demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and a positive attitude on and off the court. They always gave their best effort in practice, and they were always willing to help each other improve. Each practice begins with a warm-up. The players then break into smaller groups for targeted drills and light games. This helps to keep the sessions fun and engaging, while also providing the players with an opportunity to improve their skills.

Multi-Sports Round 3

The Multi- sports squad trained and competed well in week 3. Boys concentrated on improving their ball dribbling and passing skills. Hugo C-B and Harry D were both strong players for their respective teams. Congratulations to all boys on the obvious improvement in their confidence and game management.
