Little League Sports Report Round 6

I am pleased to share with you the exciting highlights from our Junior School sports teams this week. The football matches were intense and hard-fought, with every player giving their all on the field. I want to commend our Year 4 football team, who displayed exceptional skill and determination, resulting in some dominant victories.

In addition to the football matches, our rugby teams also had a fantastic weekend. I am thrilled to announce that our Year 6 A team won a thrilling game in the last minute against Trinity. It was a true testament to their teamwork, resilience, and never-give-up attitude. Well done, boys!

As we approach the halfway point of the winter season, I want to remind everyone that we have an upcoming long weekend, providing us with a well-deserved break. This is a perfect opportunity for our students to rest, re-energize, and prepare themselves for the rest of the season with renewed vigor and determination.

I encourage all our young athletes to use this time wisely, engage in activities that bring them joy, and focus on their overall well-being. Let’s come back after the long weekend ready to give our best and make the remainder of the season a memorable one.

Football Round 6

Year 6A Football

6As Football encountered a close 1-0 loss against Shore. Luca C and Charlie R displayed great link-up play in the final third, although they were unable to find the end product on this occasion. The team’s effort and coordination during training were evident in their promising display.

Year 6B Football

6Bs Football battled to a 1-1 draw against Shore, with Patrick G finding the back of the net. Lachlan S exhibited continuous improvement and unwavering effort throughout the match, while Patrick G’s goal and creative contributions created numerous opportunities for the team’s attackers.

Year 6C Football

6Cs Football faced a 4-1 defeat against Newington. Jack B and Jacob K demonstrated great effort and determination, consistently running their hearts out until the final whistle, often winning the physical battles against Newington. Zac G’s performance on the left flank was also commendable, providing attacking opportunities for the team.

Year 5A Football

5As Football dominated their match against Waverley, winning with an impressive 8-0 scoreline. Leonardo B netted 4 goals, while Kaspar B scored 2, and Jacob B and Rhidian S added 1 goal each. Ziggy D’s tenacity, forward running, and reading of the game were evident throughout, contributing to the team’s success. Jacob B’s diagonal runs behind the defence in the second half were noteworthy, and Ryan H displayed dominance in his first full game in the midfield.

Year 5B Football

5Bs Football secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory against St Aloysius, with goals from Austin M and Hugo S. Leo C’s fantastic performance stood out, as he effectively implemented the decision-making skills that were emphasized during training, playing a phenomenal game.

Year 5C Football

5Cs Football faced a tough challenge against St Aloysius and suffered a 7-1 defeat, with James B scoring the lone goal for the team. Michael B displayed great resilience and defensive skills at center back, blocking numerous attempts from the opposition.

Year 4A Football

4As Football dominated their match against Knox, securing an impressive 11-3 victory. Hugo L led the scoring charts with 4 goals, while Alexander R and Santiago D contributed with 4 and 3 goals, respectively. Henry H, the team’s goalkeeper, displayed remarkable improvement by implementing advice received during training, executing brilliantly and contributing to the team’s success. Santiago D stood out as a constant threat to the opposition, making brilliant unselfish decisions throughout the game.

Year 4B Football

4Bs Football celebrated a convincing 12-3 win against Knox, with every member of the team finding the back of the net. Oliver D was recognized as the Man of the Match for his exceptional performance, starting with a clean sheet in the first half as the goalkeeper and then scoring a goal in the second half. The team’s collective effort and contribution resulted in a well-deserved victory.

Year 4C Football

In a commanding 12-3 victory over Knox, 4Cs Football displayed their attacking prowess with multiple goal scorers. Henry R stood out with 4 goals, while Jack F, Sebastian R, Leo M, Jayden B, and Liam S also found the back of the net. Special mention goes to Henry R for his impressive goal-scoring display, and Leo M, who contributed with 3 goals. The team’s collective effort and coordinated gameplay were instrumental in securing the win.

Year 4D Football

4Ds Football triumphed with a 6-1 victory over Scots. Raph L showcased his skills and passing vision, contributing to the team’s success. Sam I’s tenacity resulted in 4 goals and played a crucial role in the team’s performance. The team’s overall effort and teamwork were key factors in their triumph.

Year 3A Football

3As Football secured a 4-2 victory against Grammar Edgecliff, with goals from Eddie C, Harvey C, Tristan A, and Charlie B. The team’s hard work at training paid off, as evidenced by Eddie Crocker’s outstanding second-half performance on the wing, which resulted in a crucial goal. Their efforts in training have translated into improved execution during matches.

Year 3B Football

3Bs Football triumphed with a 2-1 win over Grammar Edgecliff, thanks to goals from Alfie L and Aidan P. The team demonstrated great resilience and defensive prowess, with William J and Alfie L making remarkable last-ditch tackles and saves to prevent Grammar from scoring. Their dedication at training is clearly paying off, enabling them to excel in crucial defensive moments.

Year 3C Football

3Cs Football dominated their game against Knox, emerging victorious with a 3-0 scoreline. Thomas C, Archie S, and Alex P found the back of the net for the team. Bond M’s exceptional defensive performance and Teddy A’s remarkable goalkeeping in the second half were instrumental in keeping the team in control. The team’s commitment to training is reflected in their disciplined defensive efforts and well-coordinated gameplay.

Year 3D Football

Despite a 6-3 loss against Knox, the 3Ds Football team displayed resilience and notable performances. Liam E and Raphael K scored impressive goals, with Liam E delivering a remarkable strike and showcasing exceptional work rate throughout the game. Heiji C displayed incredible defensive skills despite the final result, while Otto H played a vital role in linking the midfield to the attack, demonstrating his tireless work ethic. The team’s training efforts are evident in their individual contributions and team dynamics.

Year 3E Football

3Es Football celebrated a 4-2 victory over Grammar Edgecliff, led by James A’s impressive hat-trick and Emilio I’s well-taken goal. James A’s consistent goal-scoring form highlights the positive impact of training, where he hones his finishing abilities. Additionally, Liam C’s teamwork and overall contribution to the team’s passing play were instrumental in their success.

Year 3F Football

In a 2-0 triumph against Grammar Edgecliff, 3Fs Football saw goals from Albert L and Bailey K. Remy G’s outstanding shots and movement off the ball stood out, reflecting the team’s training efforts to improve their attacking prowess. Remy G’s sportsmanship further exemplifies the positive values instilled through training, contributing to the team’s overall success.

Rugby Round 6

Year 6A Rugby

6As Rugby celebrated a hard-fought 10-5 victory against Trinity. Steven H and David A were the try-scorers, showcasing strong performances and leading the team to success. Bondi M made a significant impact off the bench, adding extra energy with strong carries and tackles. Jake C demonstrated excellent catch-pass skills under pressure, contributing to the team’s overall performance.

Year 6B Rugby

6Bs Rugby faced a challenging match against Grammar, resulting in a 50-15 loss, but rebounded with a 25-5 victory against Scots. Max N, Elvis L, Sol G, Lachlan R-W, Max C, and William T contributed tries for the team. Lachlan R-W’s three tries demonstrated his exceptional running ability, while Max N showed significant improvement in tackling and displayed great determination.

Year 5A Rugby

5As Rugby displayed their dominance with a resounding 57-5 victory against St Aloysius. The try-scorers included Sebastian D, Hughie W, Sam S, Charlie R, and others. The team’s hard work at training was evident in their exceptional performance on the field.

Year 5B Rugby

5Bs Rugby faced a challenging match against St Andrews, resulting in a 30-40 loss. Jack E, Jack R, Raphael G, and Charles M contributed tries for the team. Raphael G’s first try was particularly noteworthy, as he displayed great determination by ripping the ball and running the length of the field.

Year 4A Rugby

4As Rugby recorded a convincing 45-17 win against Redfield. The try-scorers included Hadley S, William S, Jaspar M, James C, and Will A. Jaspar M dominated with his running game, posing a constant threat to the opposition. Hadley S and Julian D continued to demonstrate dominance in defence, contributing significantly to the team’s success.

Year 4B Rugby

4Bs Rugby faced tough challenges against Newington and Barker, resulting in losses. Frank T and Lachlan B were the try-scorers for the team. Lachlan B stood out with his electrifying runs, scoring five tries across the two games.

Year 3 Red Rugby

3 Red Rugby secured two strong victories, defeating Knox 20-5 and Barker 35-0. The try-scorers included Wolf T, Eric L-F, Ben H, Jack P, Luca M, and Wills O. Ben H displayed excellent ball movement, delivering precise passes towards the corners and assisting his teammates’ tries. Wolf T’s contributions stood out, with two tries and exceptional defensive skills throughout the games.

Year 3 White Rugby

3 White Rugby celebrated a resounding 35-5 victory against Scots but faced a 15-5 loss against Kings. Michael L was in outstanding form, scoring four tries in the team’s biggest win of the season. Theo C demonstrated great resilience by never giving up and making tackle after tackle.

Tennis Round 6

 The first Saturday session in winter held no fears as we played under pleasant conditions. The training focused on the whole group having match play. Players were divided into smaller groups and were encouraged to implement techniques learned during the training session and apply strategic thinking. The coaches provided guidance and feedback to enhance their decisions and shot selections.

Multi-Sports Round 6

The Multi- sports squad never cease to surprise me. A truly motivated group of individuals who continue to improve. Sacha A, Jack L, Denham R. Were superb in coaching skills to their younger squad members. Yanni A has found his niche playing competently at the back. Cohen S. and Kingston T. provided some quality ball playing as attacking midfielders. Ned V and Harry D have formed a dynamic partnership for blue squad. Well done lads!
