Introducing Casey Zhang – Year 5 Year Level Coordinator & 5W Class Teacher

Casey is originally from Auckland, New Zealand and has recently moved to Sydney. She graduated from the University of Auckland with a master’s degree and has taught in a variety of year levels. Casey has 9 years’ experience in teaching: 5 years in Auckland and 4 years in London.

She brings enthusiasm and positivity to the classroom and encourages her pupils to develop empathy and understanding, as she believes this will help to build a more connected and compassionate world.

Outside of work, Casey loves exploring and travelling to unknown places, as she gets to meet new people and learn about different cultures. She encourages her students to embrace global mindedness and be open minded in every aspect of their lives.

In Casey’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and trying new food places. She loves being out of her comfort zone and is hoping to take up new hobbies, such as surfing, once she is more familiar with Sydney.

Casey is incredibly excited to be part of the Cranbrook team, especially in an environment that supports and extends students to reach their full potential and beyond.
