Great Book Swap Fundraiser

The Community Service Committee would like to thank our Cranbrook families, students and friends who donated books to the ‘Great Book Swap’ fundraiser. The idea was to swap a favourite book for a gold coin donation. Over 600 books were donated – many of them new. The library swung its doors open for three days, and we sold all our books, raising an impressive $1,480. The money is donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, which supplies culturally relevant books to remote Communities across Australia. Over 40% of books feature Indigenous authors and illustrators. This is important as it allows children to see themselves and their culture reflected in the stories, helping to build a sense of connection, belonging and pride.
